A couple of things to round off the weekend

To fill you in, I'm a long suffering Leeds United fan.

*awaits the end of usual chanting I get when I tell people that*

Well that is accept for one bloke in a Kwik-Fit garage who actually complimented me on my choice of team.....and meant it! A saint amongst men ;)

I digress.

At this point in the season, having just appointed our newest manager (God Bless ya Wisey!), Ken Bates effectively saying screw you, you're having no money to do anything with, and the team proving to be more leaky at the back than this countries Victorian water works (seriously, some parts of it are the original Victorian works, go look it up on google!) I dread waiting for the final score. Home or away, doesn't make any difference, we just suck.

So imagine, it's late last night (Saturday) and we're about to settle down to watch another Lost Season 1 episode. I decide to do the ritual depressing search on SkyText to find out how big our goal difference has now become as we'd been out and about most of the day and I'd managed to miss all sports bulletins. Yet I find three amazing things had happened:
  • We'd actually one a game at home
  • We'd not conceded any goals, and in fact scored more than once!
  • We beat the team that only a few days earlier had taken us out 3-1 at home!
To not put too fine a point on it, my joy was overwhelming, neatly mixed with a healthy dose of surprise. When you're lying as low as we are in the table, having put up with the last few years of shite, you'd take joy at small steps up the ladder.

The other thing I have been meaning to mention for a few days, is that me old mucka Father Fil has gone and moved his blog, just to confuse us all. Either clicky here, or just follow the link situated to the right of this post. Dude, it's looking really sweet too, nice work!

And to abuse my powers a little here, Phil, if you are reading this, sorry I haven't spoken to you for a while. Between this and that I've not been online very much on MSN, and otherwise I'm pretty shit at keeping in touch with people I care about. Oh and I may also be getting said Footy game soon too, so maybe the three of us can hook up for a bit of a laugh sometime? That won't make sense to anyone who hasn't read his last post, but he should know what I mean.

So now I'm just killing time till Spike (one of our cats) comes home. To be honest, I thought by now he'd be back and I could get some sleep. Then again he never did do things they way you want him to, but that's just cats really.

In case I don't get chance to post soon, have a good week people!
