Not much longer for this digital world!
Not me, this blog!
Nothing against blogger as it's a superb service, but hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have a new blog up and running, which means this here blog will be officially closed.
Although I'd be amazed if anybody is actually still reading this blog seeing as I haven't posted shit since January, but hey. Once I do have a firm date, I'll make sure that a link goes up here to help with the crossover.
Meantime, you can always catch my general typographically-fuelled musings over at The Good, The Bald and The Stupid. You all knew that, right?

What does New Year mean to you?
It's a strange time of year. One for reflection, of looking toward the future to imagine what it may bring, a way to put the past behind you and step boldly into a new way.
Some people see it as so many positive things, and rightly so. It's probably the one time of year where you see genuine comradry amongst strangers as people huddle together in the cold winter weather in one of the many mass organised celebrations. Or following from news reports earlier, not as the case may be. Once again the British weather does it's best work!
It's also something that is celebrated in many different ways, and for alot of people, not at all. After all it is just another day, the only difference is that the year goes up one, unless we've changed to some odd Martian calendar and I've missed that snippet of information?!
It is now 11.35pm on 31st December 2006 as I sit and type this, whilst my wife is giggling away to herself as she gets stuck into Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Wii downstairs. We're also looking after our youngest cat who was spayed two days ago and has been quite ill today.
Some of you now think I'm some sad git who never goes out. Never is such a harsh word :D
The truth of the matter is that neither of us really feel like going out anyway or doing any real celebrating mainly because going into town from here is ridiculously expensive as most places charge triple their normal prices, and all our friends and family live a good distance from us to go visiting them.
For me, New Year is not a happy time anyway as January 4th marks the anniversary of my Dad passing away. To say that particular New Year has stuck with me ever since is an understatement, and therefore no matter what I do I'll always be drawn back to that time.
So instead it's a time to remember. Nine years later and I still miss him so badly. But then I always think of where I am now, where I've been in my life and what I have now and I realise just how lucky I really am.
Never regret who you are, where you've been, or what you've done, because that's what makes you unique.
I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Ooops
It's been some time since I last posted on here so apologies for that. My writing time has been taken up by GBS and most things I've wanted to write about have been game related so I popped them in there.
I actually can't believe it's 16th December already, Christmas Day in nine days! Doesn't feel like it at all! Although to be honest, yesterday at work oddly helped a little.
You see my boss is a complete Christmas nut; she gets excited at the mere mention of the word let alone when it actually happens. With one thing and another, times in our office as a whole haven't been the best with some serious questions being asked of who we are and what we do. I won't bore you with the details, but it does mean that we've all been feeling very much under the thumb, none more so than my boss (naturally, seeing as the buck does stop with her).
Just over a week ago it was decided that we'd do our annual office Crimble decoration. It was a fun afternoon in a way as we all got to relax, have a bit of a laugh and make the place look gaudy as hell. Personally I think less is more, but there you go. We did all that, but my boss didn't get to decorate her office which I have not known happen in four years of working there. So I decided to brighten her office up and decorate it for her.
By now you're probably thinking I'm trying to be some kind of goody two shoes and suck up to the boss. Two reasons why not; that shit just doesn't wash with her (I've seen people try and it does nothing for them) and I honestly had feck all else to do it's that quiet at the moment. Someone else came and helped for a bit as well and we had a bit of a laugh doing it, and in a strange way it put me in the mood for the festive season.
So I wake up this morning (to the sound of next door going at it again. If you'd seen them, it's enough to put them off your Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!!!) feeling all Christmas-y. A fact helped by the sight of the first real frost we've had here since the beginning of Winter.
That's another thing, has Winter actually started yet? Yesterday I was walking around outside with just a long sleeve top on. Round our way at this time of year it's normally wrap up warm weather. I'm not complaining but I do like to have proper seasons, you know, warm barmy Summers, cold icy Winters. Maybe it's just me but I find it makes you appreciate the different times of year more. Maybe I'm just getting old and thinking about this stuff too much.
Life just generally feels good at the moment. Yeah I've got my worries like everybody else, mostly revolving around money and how much I owe to various organisations, but I learnt something a number of years ago that is so true.
You can't live for tomorrow. Sure, look forward to things, anticipate the future, but don't make it your lifes goal to wait for it to happen, otherwise everything will pass you by. Enjoy now, cause it goes to quickly and changes before you know it! In short, don't be afraid to enjoy what you enjoy.
I'll tell you the reason why I've come to realise that in the new year and you'll understand exactly why I think like that!
I'll also try and do a little review of 2006 in teh next couple of weeks, what was good, what sucked. It kinda helps to summarise where you've been to understand where you're going I think. Oh and on a lighter note, don't forget to check out GBS soon for more articles from us all. I've got two going around my head but just need to sit down and put words to screen.
